A sock is a proxy which hides your current location. a vpn is the same thing but you can download a vpn. Search it more up on google and click thanks if i helped you.

Simply put, VPN diverts ALL incoming/outgoing internet activity as to conceal your current actual IP address. SOCKS will provide the same service but it is only applicable to activity on your browser. If you want it to look like you are in a specific place on earth other than where you're at for beginners you should find a service that offers A LOT of options for possible SOCKS connections. I prefer and use both VPN and SOCKS. I like hma and vip72, but who the fuck cares what I think.
